Hester Young

Hestor Young is the author of the first installment of a new crime series, The Gates of Evangeline (Putnam). A Southern Gothic mystery debut that combines literary suspense and romance with a mystical twist, the novel will leave readers ready for the next installment. Young holds a Master’s degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She has worked as a teacher in Arizona and New Hampshire. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. In her bio she states: “I spend November to February of each year wondering why I ever left Hawai’i.”

Bobby Whalen

Bobby Whalen is from Indianola, MS and is known as a guitarist and mural painter. His “Bobby Whalen and the Ladies Choice Band” has performed throughout the region, sharing the stage with the likes of B.B. King, Sam Myers and the Staple Singers. Bobby brings his authentic Delta blues to museums, festivals, private parties, business functions and clubs across the South.

Teardrop City

Teardrop City, Oxford’s newest band, recently made their New Orleans debut at the House of Blues. The group features guitarists Tyler Keith, George Sheldon, and Laurie Stirratt with drummer, Wallace Lester. Sheldon and Stirratt formerly played together in Blue Mountain. Keith, Stirratt and Sheldon have played together in various configurations for over 20 years. Drummer Wallace Lester honed his chops in New Orleans. The band explores their love of country, 60’s rock, and blues.
