Eddie Cotton, Jr.
Eddie Cotton, Jr. is an electric blues guitarist from Clinton. A minister’s son, Cotton Jr. grew up singing and playing gospel music at church and playing the blues at home. He studied music theory at Jackson State University and served as minister of music at his father’s church. His explosive stage show now encompasses funk, soul, blues along with his blistering guitar playing. Cotton’s CDs include EXTRA and Live at the Alamo.
Claire Holley writes songs that are literary, playful, meditative, and earthy. A native of Mississippi, she owes much to the southern tradition of storytelling. Holley has released seven full length records and two EPs. Her music has been featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition as well as in film and television. Her latest CD is Time in the Middle. Holley lives in Los Angeles.
Marshall Ramsey is a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist (2002 and 2006). His editorial cartoons are syndicated nationally by Creators Syndicate and have appeared in The New York Times, USA Today and The (Jackson, Miss.) Clarion-Ledger. He is the author of two cartoon collections, the short story collection, Fried Chicken and Wine and the children’s book, Banjo’s Dream. Ramsey is also the host of the weekly radio program, Now You’re Talking, on Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
