Matthew Guinn

Matthew Guinn’s new novel is The Scribe (Norton) a literary thriller set in 1881 Atlanta as the city is set to celebrate its recovery from the Civil War with the International Cotton Exposition. A serial killer targeting prominent African-American entrepreneurs causes a city-wide panic and disgraced detective, Thomas Camby, is called in to solve the increasingly unpredictable and gruesome murders. Guinn’s debut novel, “The Resurrectionists,” was nominated for an Edgar Award for best first novel. A native of Atlanta, Guinn received a master’s degree from Ole Miss and now lives in Jackson.

Fly Golden Eagle

Fly Golden Eagle is a psych-funk band from Nashville. Their newest release is Quartz, an epic 26 song CD that covers blues, soul, rock and psychedelia. The album was painstakingly arranged to sync up with Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky’s 1973 underground film, The Holy Mountain. Following their Thacker appearance, Fly Golden Eagle will perform a full show at Proud Larry’s.

Hana Lena

Sisters Hannah (fiddle, vocals) and Caroline Melby (mandolin, vocals) are Mississippi natives, now based in Nashville, who front the band, Hana Lena. Their CDs include, Live at the Princess Theater, Carry On, Between Hope and Heartache, and a self-titled EP. The sisters are also authors of Recipes and Road Stories (Sartoris Book Group) a book of recipes and tales from their life traveling and performing on tour.
