Author

Joe Hagan

Joe Hagan is the author of Sticky Fingers: The Life and Times of Jann Wenner and Rolling Stone Magazine (Knopf). In capturing Wenner’s legend, Hagan creates a moving portrait of a complicated, brilliant, flawed man who genuinely moved the needle on American culture. Sticky Fingers is based on Hagan’s extensive interviews with Wenner and on original source reporting. The book draws from Wenner’s vast archive of correspondence with “a staggering number of colorful characters” including Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Bono, Hunter Thompson, among dozens of others.

Music

Sam Frazier, Jr.

Sam Frazier, Jr. is a soul vocalist/blues harmonica player from Edgewater, Alabama. His latest release is Take Me Back (Big Legal Mess), a collection of rare and unreleased tunes he recorded in the late 1960s/early 70s. This is classic southern soul music of the time, including big numbers with strings and backing choruses, and stripped-down country soul tunes. Frazier also has released an album of country music, Cabbage Man on Missile Records produced by Don Flemons of the Carolina Chocolate Drops.

Chinese Connection Dub Embassy

Chinese Connection Dub Embassy is a Memphis band that puts a new spin on classic reggae while offering their own stylish originals and unique covers. The band has released two CDs, The Firm Foundation and a 5-song EP of covers, Farmers Market.
