Join us for this REMOTE performance of the Thacker Mountain Radio Hour at the Delta Music Institute on the campus of Delta State University (Cleveland, MS).  This show will not be broadcast live, but the performance is free and open to the public.  We will rebroadcast the recording on Mississippi Public Broadcasting Saturday, March 21, 2015.   This edition of the Thacker Mountain Radio Hour will feature a reading by Tom Franklin & Beth Ann Fennelly (The Tilted World) and music by former Miss Mississippi Kristian Dambrino and hometown musician Fish Michie.  Plus a performance by DMI students.  The show is hosted by Jim Dees and our house band, The Yalobushwhackers fronted by the amazing John Paul Keith.

Tom Franklin & Beth Ann Fennelly

Mississippi-based author Tom Franklin and his wife, poet Beth Ann Fennelly, capture the “dynamite and deluge” of the 1927 Mississippi River flood in The Tilted World.

Kristian Dambrino

After winning Miss Mississippi 2005 and competing in the Miss America Pageant, Kristian Dambrino moved to Nashville, TN.  Dambrino performed at benefits all over the nation to help raise more than $15 million in hurricane relief aid for victims of Hurricane Katrina.  She is currently working on a joint album with Jim “Fish” Michie.

Jim "Fish" Michie

Jim “Fish” Michie hails from Merigold, Mississippi, in the heart of the Delta.  After a career in the Tangents, affectionately known as the House Band of Mississippi, Michie moved to Nashville, TN. Michie currently plays the downtown Nashville area with blues and jazz groups as well as accompanying classes at the Nashville Jazz Workshop and leading his jazz quartet, Fish and the Chips.
