Performed at the New Roxy Theater (363 Issaquena Ave) in Clarksdale, MS this edition of the Thacker Mountain Radio Hour will feature live blues music from Bilbo Walker and Hattiesburg duo Robert “Lil’ Poochie” Watson and Hezekiah Early with live literature from acclaimed author Robert Gordon.  The show is FREE and open to the public.

The New Roxy Theater is an outdoor venue.  Feel free to bring lawn chairs.  A cash bar and food service will be available throughout the evening.

Robert "Bilbo" Walker

Blues guitarist and singer/songwriter Robert “Bilbo” Walker was raised in Clarksdale, the heart of the Mississippi Delta. He has lived in Chicago, where he developed his unique, one-handed guitar style and Bakersfield, Calif. where he learned and played country music. His CDs include, Promised Land, Rompin’ and Stompin’ and Rock the Night. Walker, known for his fiery stage performances, lives in California.

Robert "Lil' Poochie" Watson & Hezekiah Early

Robert “Lil Poochie” Watson was born and raised in Natchez and began his blues career as a teenager, singing and playing guitar. During the 1980s, Watson took a break from music and resumed performing in the 2000s. Hezekiah Early is a Natchez-based drummer, harmonica player and vocalist. The duo has a brand new CD, Natchez Burnin’ (Broke and Hungry Records).

Robert Gordon

Grammy Award-winning writer Robert Gordon is the author of six books, and producer/director of eight feature documentaries. Gordon’s most recent documentary is Best of Enemies, a film about the enmity between William F. Buckley Jr. and Gore Vidal during the 1968 Presidential campaign. His books include It Came From Memphis, Muddy Waters – Can’t Be Satisfied (considered the definitive Muddy Waters biography) and his latest, Respect Yourself: The Stax Records Story.
