April is no foolin’! Bobby Rush, boudin and ‘The Bear’!

April is no foolin’ for The Thacker Mountain Radio Hour!

In the next month the show will travel to Clarksdale for our Juke Joint Festival show, this year with the great Bobby Rush.

We’ll head to New Albany for a show at William Faulkner’s birthplace – (Some days you eat the bear…)

and a special Double Decker Arts Festival kick-off show in Oxford to round out the month.

In between we’ll have Louisiana politics and Boudin

plus, the mysterious underground waterfall of Ruby Falls, and celebrated novelists Willy Vlautin and, for our season finale, Jay McInerney.

And the music! The Parchman Prison Blues Band!

The Mighty Gospel Warriors, songwriter Alva Leigh, R&B powerhouse Twurt Chamberlain, the Epic Funk Brass Band and more!

Come for the books and the music, stay for the joy!
