She is currently an assistant professor at the University of Mississippi School of Journalism and New Media. Her latest book is, Delta Jewels: In Search of My Grandmother’s Wisdom (Center Street). Their album, The Tumbling Wheels Play the No Counts (United Bakery Records) was voted one of the 50 Best Albums of 2016 by Offbeat Magazine.
