Sarah Adlakha’s novel, Midnight on the Marne (Macmillian) a time-traveling thriller set in France during the brutality of World War I, is the winner of the 2023 Miss. Institute for Arts and Letters award for Fiction.
Publishers Weekly says, “This wistful tale is a winner.”
A native of Chicago, Adakha recently moved to Ocean Springs with her husband, three daughters, two horses, and one dog.
She started writing fiction shortly after retiring from her psychiatry practice. Her debut novel, She Wouldn’t Change a Thing, was a CNN most anticipated book of 2021. Midnight on the Marne is her second novel.
Cary Hudson is a singer-songwriter and former front man for the beloved rock band, Blue Mountain. His solo albums include Hobochitto, Town and Country (Daddy Rabbit Records) and Christmas in Mississippi.
He was chosen as one of the Top Ten Alternative Country Guitar Players by Gibson magazine.
He continues to tour and write songs in a career spanning 30 years. In recent appearances he is accompanied by virtuoso fiddler Katrina Miller and his daughter, Anna, on vocals.
Hudson lives in south Mississippi and hopes to someday, “whistle like Professor Longhair.”
The Marina Orchestra is a beach rock band from New Orleans playing tropically tinged dance-rock heavy on world music influences.
