Featuring

Author

M.L. Rio

M.L. Rio is the author of the gothic novella, Graveyard Shift (Flatiron Books). Her previous book was the bestselling sensation, If We Were Villains. That novel, her debut, was published in twenty countries and eighteen languages.

In Graveyard Shift, a ragtag group of night shift workers meet in the local cemetery to unearth the secrets lurking in an open grave.

“Shot through with cool, heavily dosed with ennui, and dense with people-pleasures.” – Olive Blake author, Atlas Six

Music

Julie Williams

Country Music Television (CMT)’s Next Women of Country, Julie Williams, drops her new EP, Tennessee Moon, on Oct. 17.

A single from the album, just friends, is out now.

Raised in Florida, Julie is turning heads in Nashville’s Americana music scene with her compelling blend of country storytelling, soft-yet-powerful vocal performance, and indie folk production.

In 2022, she joined the Black Opry, a collective of Black artists in country, blues and folk.

In June 2023, Julie released her self-titled EP, Julie Williams.

Alice Hasen

Songwriter/violinist Alice Hasen’s new EP, Dream of Rain, drops on Oct. 4.

Her previous release was the groove rock album, Violintro. The disc featured sparsely elegant funk and jazz arrangements, plus sly hip-hop and R&B beats. The songs related to self-actualization and environmental awareness.

Born in Vermont and residing in Memphis, TN, Alice is the leader of Alice Hasen and the Blaze, a fiddle-powered groove band that primarily plays Alice’s original compositions. She is also a member of the Blackwater Trio, an acoustic rock group.
