De’Shawn Charles Winslow’s Decent People (Bloomsbury) is a sweeping and unforgettable novel of a Black community reeling from a triple homicide, and the secrets the killings reveal.
In 1976 West Mills, North Carolina, Marian, Marva, and Lazarus Harmon, three enigmatic siblings, are found shot to death in their home.
Miss Josephine Wright, recently returned home to West Mills from New York City, sets out to investigate.
Jo discovers small town secrets ranging from medical cover-ups-ranging to illicit affairs.
De’Shawn Charles Winslow is the author of In West Mills, a Center for Fiction First Novel Prize winner; winner of an American Book Award, a Willie Morris Award for Southern Fiction, and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award.
Winslow was born and raised in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and graduated from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
Rod Smoth is Mississippi singer and guitarist Reed Smith. His self-titled debut was recorded in Jackson, MS with producer Cole Furlow (Low Variety, Dead Gaze).

Other releases include the singles, Eyes Wide Open, Stand and In The Shallow.
