CW Ayon (pronounced “I own”) hails from Las Cruces, New Mexico but his soul lives in the grooves of the Mississippi Hill Country blues.
Ayon performs one-man band style, pumping a kick drum while he sings and plays guitar. However, he has a bandmate: upright “slap” bassist, Felipe Toltecatl.
The duo raises quite the bluesical ruckus, what Ayon calls the “Hill Country Blues, Chihuahuan Desert, hook-laden groove.”
Ayon’s current release is the album, Bounce Boogie & Bump, which includes the single, Chicken Wing.
The album hit #1 on the Roots Music Report.
