Author

Nathan Hill

Nathan Hill is the author of The Nix (Knopf) one of the most-buzzed about books of the year. It is the story of Samuel Andresen-Anderson, who at age 11 is abandoned by his mother and never hears from her again until 40 years later when she suddenly appears on the nightly news for having thrown rocks at an arch-conservative could-be presidential candidate. This wide-ranging, 620-page novel, flashes back to the riots at the 1968 Democratic Convention while delving into issues of love and betrayal, politics and pop culture.

Square Books owner Richard Howorth says: “The Nix is clever, ambitious, funny, big-hearted, and brilliantly written, and the anticipation of its publication very much reminds me of a time in 1978, just before The World According to Garp was published.” The New York Times Book Review called the debut novel, “Hugely entertaining and unfailingly smart.”

Hill lives in Naples, Florida.

“The Nix” is set to become a TV series produced by JJ Abrams and starring Meryl Streep: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/meryl-streep-jj-abrams-team-926419
